Small Group Tour - Union Bay Natural Area, Seattle
$75.00 per person
Beginner to Intermediate
7:00AM - 9:00AM
Come focus on identifying birds by sight and sound at the Union Bay Natural Area, one of Seattle’s top birding hot spots. This is a perfect walk for beginner to intermediate birders, as we will be focusing on the fundamentals of birding and bird identification.
We will walk the trails of the park and search for wildlife in the forests, ponds, bay, prairie, and wetland habitat. We can expect to identify a variety of waterfowl, sparrow, warbler, wren, woodpecker, finch, raptor, corvid, kinglet, thrush and more families of birds throughout the morning. The path is an easy, one-mile gravel walking loop with limited bathroom access.
We will begin right at sunrise to view as many birds as possible, and also minimize exposure to anthropogenic (human-made) noise.
We will meet in the large horticultural library parking lot at 7:00AM - 3863 Union Bay Cir NE, Seattle, WA 98105. If you have any questions about transportation or anything else, please use the contact form!
Please bring binoculars!
